More about me...

My full name is Chanaka Dilshan Mapa Mudiyanselage. I am 28 years old. I am a proud Sri Lankan.

I am a PhD student in mathematics at RPI, currently in my third year, under the supervision of Prof. Fabian M. Faulstich. I previously completed my bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics at the University of Peradeniya and RPI, where I focused on topics in graph theory (bachelor's) and quantum many-body theory (master's and doctoral). My Ph.D. thesis will be centered on the development of computational methods in quantum chemistry, particularly within localization techniques in coupled cluster theory.

My current research interests lie in computational quantum many-body theory, with a focus on numerical methods for solving the Schrödinger equation, electronic structure theory, and tensor-based algorithms. I am especially fascinated by the mathematical foundations behind high-performance simulations in quantum chemistry, and I aim to contribute to both theoretical and practical advancements in the field.

Outside of mathematics, I enjoy playing sports, mainly cricket, swimming, tennis, basketball, badminton, and carrom. I also try to stay active through regular workouts, and I’m passionate about self-improvement and personal growth.
